Terms and Conditions
1. Registration
Registration for Slide Surfcamp can be made in writing (by post) or electronically (via email or booking request form). An offer is binding and can only be accepted within the usual period of 5 days. Slide Surfcamp will provide a binding offer or a booking confirmation in text form, outlining the essential details of the contract. A contract is concluded only when identical declarations of intent (offer and acceptance) exist between both parties, and acceptance is received in a timely manner. Expressions of interest are not offers but invitations to submit offers. Late acceptance is considered a new offer. The contract becomes binding for the participant upon receipt at Slide Surfcamp. The organizer becomes bound upon sending the booking confirmation (via email or post), including the deposit amount and bank details. There is no right of withdrawal for travel contracts under §§ 312 ff. BGB.
2. Participation Requirements and Supervision
The minimum age for participation in Slide Surfcamp programs is 18 years. For participants under 18, a written parental consent form must be submitted at registration. Participation in surf courses and other sports activities requires mental and physical fitness. A sports medical examination before registration is recommended. During sports courses and programs, participants must follow the instructors’ and supervisors’ instructions. Participants must adhere to local, national, and international safety regulations.
3. Payment Terms
Participants must pay a deposit of 25% of the total amount within 5 business days of receiving the booking offer. After payment, a booking confirmation is issued. The remaining balance is due 30 days before the start of the trip unless otherwise agreed. For bookings made within 30 days before departure, the total amount is due immediately. Cancellation fees and insurance premiums must be paid immediately.
4. Services and Changes to Services
The services listed in the booking confirmation, considering the description on the website, are included in the price. Slide Surfcamp reserves the right to make changes if necessary after contract conclusion, as long as they are not significant and do not substantially affect the overall experience. If the modified services are defective, warranty claims remain unaffected. If the participant does not use certain services for reasons not attributable to Slide Surfcamp (e.g., early departure), there is no right to a partial refund.
5. Cancellation Fees and Rebookings
Based on § 651 h Abs. 2 Satz 1 BGB, the traveler can withdraw from the contract at any time before departure. If they do, the organizer loses the right to the agreed price but may demand reasonable compensation:
- Cancellation up to 60 days before departure: €50
- 59 to 30 days before departure: 25% of the total amount
- 29 to 15 days before departure: 50% of the total amount
- 14 to 7 days before departure: 75% of the total amount
- From 6 days before departure: 100% of the total amount
Cancellations must be submitted in writing. Travelers may transfer their booking to a substitute person, who takes over all rights and obligations. The original participant and substitute are jointly liable for the total price. Rebookings require cancellation under these terms and a new registration. Travel cancellation insurance is recommended.
6. Termination by Slide Surfcamp
Slide Surfcamp may cancel or terminate the contract in the following cases:
- Force Majeure – Unforeseeable hazards such as epidemics, disasters, war, or extreme weather. A refund is issued minus the costs incurred.
- Misconduct – If a participant violates rules despite warnings, immediate termination is possible without a refund.
- Minimum Participation Not Reached – For certain activities, Slide Surfcamp may cancel due to low participant numbers. In this case, payments are refunded.
7. Liability
Slide Surfcamp is responsible for the proper preparation and execution of the camp and the maintenance of equipment. Liability is limited to three times the course fee unless damage was caused intentionally. Slide Surfcamp is not liable for lost or damaged personal belongings. Equipment must be used properly; participants are liable for losses or damage due to negligence. Travel disruptions must be reported immediately. Travel and activities are undertaken at participants’ own risk. Slide Surfcamp is not liable for transport delays, accidents, or damages caused by third parties.
8. Insurance, Passports, Visas, and Health Regulations
Travel insurance (cancellation, accident, health, luggage) is strongly recommended. Non-EU citizens should check visa and health regulations with their consulate before traveling. Slide Surfcamp is not liable for delays or cancellations due to missing travel documents.
9. Changes in Schedule
Changes in the schedule, particularly due to weather risks, may occur. Slide Surfcamp is not liable for refunds due to program adjustments.
10. Warranty
If a service is defective, the participant agrees to allow Slide Surfcamp to provide an equivalent replacement or improvement within a reasonable time. Complaints must be reported on-site to the camp leader. Compensation can be denied if the required effort is excessive. Participants must mitigate potential damages by reporting issues immediately.
11. Data Protection & Media Usage
Participants agree that Slide Surfcamp may use photos or videos taken during activities for promotional purposes. This consent can be revoked in writing. Personal data may be used for marketing and research, following data protection laws. Participants can object to data use at any time. Email addresses may be used for newsletters.
12. Claims and Expiry
Claims for defective services must be made within one month. After this period, claims are only possible if the traveler was unable to file them earlier for valid reasons. All claims expire one year after the end of the travel contract.
13. Severability Clause
The invalidity of individual provisions does not affect the validity of the remaining contract and terms.
